Dark was the Day

from Volume Four by Musicians of Bremen

/

lyrics

Dark was the day and dark was the night,
nothing was brighter than the brightest bit of bright.
I see the horizon, I hear a string band,
the earth spins around itself though nothing much is planned.

Love can take you pretty fast, you better take it slow, love is all around you and love is all you know.

Shadows lark around your head so you are not alone,
I see your world is fighting still, you never really phone.
A fallen tree reveals it's roots, you buy a brand new car,
you will never be someone, you'll always be a star.

I'm the only one around, I always seem to find,
the clouds the just seem to melt away when I open up my mind.
